Having Trouble Logging In To The Personnel Information Exchange?
If you have already registered for the P.I.E. system and are still having problems logging in, there are a few simple things to check before asking for help.
User name and password errors:
Your user name is your first name and last name, separated by a space (e.g. "John Doe"). JDoe, JohnDoe, and/or JohnnyDoe will not work.
Your password is case sensitive. This means that if you originally created your password using all capital letters, it must always be entered in capital letters. Check your caps lock key and try again. This may save you valuable time and frustration.
Forgotten passwords:
DPA does not reset passwords. If you've forgotten your password, please register again. This will essentially recreate your account.
Examples of correct and incorrect logons
Note: Your password will appear as a string of asterisks.
INCORRECT USAGES:
User Name: Boba Fett
Password: Degobah
This is incorrect because the "d" in "degobah" is capitalized.
Since this password, "degobah" is in all lower case,. The capital D is unacceptable.
User Name: Bfett
Password: degobah
The password is correct here, but the user name is wrong.
You must enter your full name, spelled out - with a space inbetween.
CORRECT USAGE:
User Name: Boba Fett
Password: degobah
If you still need assistance, please email pie@dpa.ca.gov.
Note for employees of DPA:
DPA employees log on to the PIE using their normal LAN username and password. The username must be preceded by "dpa/" (without the quotes). Like this:
