About Dell:
Dell's unique infrastructure sets them apart from other laptop
manufacturers. Founded in 1984 by Michael Dell, the company began by selling
computers directly to their customers. Their laptops reach their customers
directly with locations in North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.
Their direct business model allows them to produce and sell laptops such as
their Latitude notebook computer, which was first introduced in 1991. Among
Dell's most popular laptops are the Latitude, Inspiron, Workstation and XPS
series. The Latitude laptop is designed with the intention of addressing a
wide variety of laptop uses whereas the Inspiron is designed for those
looking for a high performance computer system. Dell Workstation series laptops
are typically used by people who run larger applications such as computer
animation, digital content, etc.
Notebook Computer Facts and Tips:
-
Did you know there are three types of
rechargeable laptop batteries on the market? The three types include Lithium Ion, Nickel
Cadmium (NiCad), and Nickel Medal Hydride (NIMH). Currently, the most
popular type of battery used in laptops is Lithium Ion.
-
Does your laptop get hot
quickly? Try the following to keep your laptop from overheating:
-
Adjust the power settings on
your laptop. Setting your computer to turn off or go into standby after
not being used for a period of time can reduce the amount of time it has
to over-heat. Additionally, turning down the brightness of your LCD screen
and turning off your wireless connection when not in use will help cool
your laptop.
-
Clean your air vents
periodically. Much like other household appliances, laptops can collect
dust. Periodically cleaning your laptop can eliminate the accumulation of
dust that can clog vents and keep heat from venting out.
-
Consider going onto your
laptop manufacturer's website. Some manufacturers have support programs
that will help you troubleshoot your fan. Sometimes fans may simply stop
working and can be fixed by using a program to detect problems.
